MARCH/APRIL/MAY!!! OH MY

It's been a very quite few months for us as we welcome KC's first litter  into the world and Benshiva's first litter in 2 years!  What an exciting litter this was for us.  The product of more than 10 year old frozen semen from a dog I've admired for many years, Ch/Eng Sh Ch Nahrof No Comment.

How lucky are we that in this day and age of DNA testing we can now safely use such beautiful dogs with confidence, and produce the future by utilising those amazing dogs from the past!  It's enough to make your head spin!

Thank you to my boss the amazing Dr John Newell and my workmates at Frozen Puppies Dot Com for helping to make my dream a reality and putting up with the tears and more tears as we welcomed these babies into the world.

Benshiva Old World New World

Darcy to his friends, will be owned in partnership with Jessica, Nahrof Border Collies and Benshiva Border Collies.  We wish Jessica MUCH fun with Darcy and hope he proves to be the "Star" that we hope for!!

Benshiva White Is The New Black

Hannah has found the most fantastic home one could want with Sally and her family.  I have to admit that I am more than sad to see this girl go.   She has a stunning personality to go with her equally stunning good looks.

Benshiva Trouble In Paradise

Trouble by name Trouble by nature is the best way to describe this little minx.  165grams first born and hasn't taken a backward step since!!  This girl is staying here with us and I think I may have met my match here (at least Miss Trouble would like to think so).  Maybe I should call her "Waterloo".  It will be an interesting few months at Benshiva that's for sure!!!

We have done a few shows over the last three months, it hasn't ALL been about the puppies (well we keep telling ourselves that!!).  Walker has had a few nice wins, taking out another BOB  (he is on the downward run to  that title now!!) and a couple more classes in group and a Junior In Show.

Teek has had one show back and is finally growing some coat.  Not enough to be really competitive but she did win the Open bitch class!!

Webster has had a few shows but will now be taking a fairly long break to allow for Walker to be campaigned.  You will see Webster at some Royals this year and maybe a specialty or two as well!!

WE ARE EXPECTING PUPPIES!

KC is having puppies!   Babies due early April.  Keep checking for news of our upcoming litter.

FEBRUARY!

It's been a great month for Benshiva Dogs.

We attended Canberra Royal and it was a boys only weekend for us.  All the girls have decided to have a holiday from their coats!!!  Walker placed 2nd in the puppy dog class and Webster won the Australian Bred class.  From there he went on to win Reserve Challenge.  The judge was Mr James Reynolds from Canada

We also attended the NSW Show Dog Of The Year contest with Teek and Walker.

Teek didn't make it past the first round but we were proud to be there with her as only BEST IN SHOW winners are invited to attend.

Walker and his litter brother Gil did amazingly well making it through to the quarter finals!!  I'm very proud of them both

It should also be noted that Nahrof Kennels had a litter brother/sister competing in Dog of the year (Teak and her litter brother Strider) and in Puppy of the year had litter brothers (Walker and Gil).  A fantastic achievement.  Well done Nahrof!!!

Our last shows for the month, were the Medowie shows held on the last weekend in February.

It was a boys only weekend again for us with Webster and his son Walker being shown.  Webster won the breed both days and was RUBIG at the second show.  His son Walker, showing for the last time in the puppy class was Reserve Challenge dog both days and RUBOB to his dad at the first show.  He also won Puppy In Group at both shows as well!!!

Not a bad month considering we only attended 3 shows as our show schedule was interrupted with an AWESOME trip to New York and the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show!!!.  An amazing time was had and we're madly saving to go again in 2010!

26-27 JANUARY - DORRIGO WEEKEND

We had a weekend away in Dorrigo and attended the two day show.  Our dogs did us proud winning all challenges on offer for the weekend:

Saturday our judge was Mrs P Douglas (NZ).  Webster won the dog challenge and was BOB.  Teek won the bitch challenge and was RUBOB.  Webster went on to win BIG/AIG but was knocked out for Aus Bred In Show by the lovely BIS winning Giant Schnauzer.  Walker was a winner as well, taking out the puppy sweepstakes in the morning and puppy of breed as well.

Sunday our judge was Mr T Pickering (NSW).  Webster was BOB once again and Teek was bitch challenge.  Walker won reserve challenge dog and was RUBOB to his dad.  Webster went on to win BIG/AIG but to our utter delight went on from there to win RUBIS/Aus In Show!!!  Walker won the sweepstakes as well in the morning and Puppy In Group as well.

What a great weekend for our dogs!!

OUR FIRST SHOWS FOR THE YEAR - HILLSBOROUGH

We had our first shows for the year at Hillsborough and Walker has kicked the year off in style winning PUPPY IN SHOW!!!!  Teek was Reserve Challenge to Cheese as well.
